Inspired by legendary photographer Ara Güler, Ufuk Uçta developed a distinctive visual language centered on people, identity, and human stories.

Raised in Berlin and influenced by his time in Istanbul, he began photographing at an early age after receiving his first camera from his mother. Shortly before Ara Güler’s passing, Ufuk Uçta had the opportunity to personally exchange thoughts with the iconic photographer — an encounter that further shaped his artistic perspective.

Working across reportage and portrait photography, his images explore the intersection of culture, emotion, and social reality. His work ranges from internationally recognized figures in film, politics, and the arts to intimate stories of marginalized communities and everyday life.

As a freelance photographer and visual storyteller, Ufuk Uçta has collaborated with internationally recognized publications, media platforms, and cultural institutions. Alongside his photographic practice, he has also written articles and commentaries emerging from his journalistic work.
